Carol Dawson is
the fiddle player in the high-energy traditional trio Workshy Profits, who are currently making a name for themselves
around the folk circuit. She is also a teacher of the violin/fiddle and
recorder and a community and freelance musician. Her latest depping job was
with Ade Edmondson, Maartin Allcock and Troy Donockley in the Bad Shepherds..
She studied at Leeds College of music and Huddersfield University,
gaining Diplomas in violin playing and a Graduate Diploma in music performance. She has successfully run the Wootton Fiddle Club for 14
years and Brigg Fiddle Fest for 11 years.
She is heavily involved in wider opportunities where she
teaches up to 30 young people at a time to play the violin or recorder. She
also devises and runs community music projects, anything from healthy eating
through music to song writing.
